My Lady Quicksilver
My Lady Quicksilver by Bec McMaster
Steampunk setting in Victorian London, action, romance, and a mystery, all rolled up into this fabulous novel, book 3 of the London steampunk series.
Rosalind is looking for her missing brother, Jeremy, and decides to infiltrate the Nighthawks’ headquarters, posing as Lynch’s new secretary.
Lynch is looking for the elusive Mercury, the woman who’s leading the Humanists against the Echelon, and doesn’t know that his new pretty secretary is his nemesis.
I particularly loved the great tension between the two protags. Both Lynch and Rosalind understand that they misjudged their enemies. Rosalind learns that not all bleeders are dangerous monsters, and Lynch warms to Mercury’s cause. This book kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. Beautiful descriptions, gorgeous writing, and a great plot. I can’t ask for more.
