Another great novel of the London Steampunk series by Bec McMaster. Finally we know the story of the Duchess of Casavian, Mina, and Leo Barrons. After years of tiptoeing around each other, they find themselves involved in the plot to remove the Prince Consort from the throne. When the Prince Consort discovers Leo’s secret, that he isn’t the son of the Duke of Cain, he sentences Leo to death. Leo escapes, taking Mina as hostage, and flees to Whitechapel, only to draw the Prince Consort’s army of metaljackets to the rookery.

I loved this story full of action and romance, and finally we see the queen reacting to her slavery. Looking forward to reading the next book!
