I’m
really excited to introduce romance author Rina Kent and her debut romantic
suspense novel Crowed, the first book in the Team Zero series. Rina isn’t just
a great author but a friend as well, and I know how hard she works on her novels.
The
blurb:
She wished for death. A killer showed up at her door.
Eloise
Life left me when my family died.
I thought I wanted to die, too, until death comes knocking on my door.
Only, instead of killing me, he breathes new life into me.
For the first time in my existence, I'm scared. Because when that life is taken from me, I'll have nothing left.
Crow
I have one rule: leave no traces behind.
She compromised my identity and needs to be eliminated.
So simple, right?
Not even close.
When she welcomes death with open arms, I can't pull the trigger.
Breaking my one rule would not only put my life in danger, but it would completely destroy hers.

My
review of Crowed
Five
stars for this awesome romantic-suspense novel by Rina Kent.
Eloise
is a nurse, dealing with the aftermath of her beloved mother’s death. Crow is an
assassin who’s trying to change life and escape from Hades—the man he’s been
working for since he was a child. And he’s exactly what Eloise needs to start a
new life.
Set
in lovely Southern France and beautifully written, this novella will capture
your heart. Great descriptions, awesome writing, and an intriguing cast make
this novel an awesome begin for the series.
I’m
looking forwards to reading the next instalments of the series.
Totally
recommend it.
Rina has
been kind enough to answer a few questions:
1. What is something unique/quirky about
you?
This is a tough one! I
think what I’d consider unique about myself is my observation of patterns that
eventually lead to a bigger picture. I know that lots of people have this
ability as well, but I consider it something particularly unique about me.
As for something quirky, I
curse in at least five languages for no particular reason!
2.
Crowed is set in Southern France and there's some French dialogue in the
novel. How much research have you done for Crowed?
None, actually. Or my
entire life. Depends on how you see it. My mother is French and I was raised
speaking both French and English. Most of my family from Mum’s side reside in
Southern France, so setting Crowed in Southern France was more of a visit to my
roots there.
3. What
are some of your pet peeves?
In life or in writing? If
it’s in life, then I hate chaos and lack of plans! As for writing, I’m a bit
itchy about info dump. I mean, surely there’s a way to rely what’s happening
without bogging the start of the book with info dumping.
4. What
do you do to unwind and relax?
For me, just arriving at
home relaxes me. I’m an extreme introvert so I find lots of comfort in home,
with my kitty and my husband. Lazy weekends where we just lie around or binge
watch a series are my favourite forms of relaxation.
5. Describe
yourself in 5 words or less!
A sadist to her
characters!
6. When
did you first consider yourself a writer?
When a stranger read
my story and told me: You have a gripping way of storytelling.
7. What
inspired you to write Crowed?
At first, I only
wanted a small prequel to Team Zero’s series, and I didn’t want to write
something long. Alas! Crow refused to just be a prequel! And thus, this book
was born. It was one of the smoothest books I’ve ever written.
8. Which
of your novels can you imagine made into a movie? I can easily picture Crowed
starred by Tom Hardy ;)
Haha! *whispers* I picture
all my male leads played by Tom Hardy *end of whisper* Jokes aside, I don’t
ever think about my novels beings made into a movie. At least not at this
point. I’m too much of a realist for that.
9. What
did you enjoy most about writing Crowed?
Crow! His character just spoke through me. I swear
I became him every time I sat down to write him. His voice was clear and
strong. I usually have the most fun writing characters with strong voices and
personalities. So I try to have those in all my novels!
Thank you for having me!

novel:
CROWED
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Excerpt
The moment my fingers connect with his
shoulder, a large hand clasps around my wrist, and my whole body is yanked
forward.
I yelp, hands reaching out to grab onto
something for balance. I end up gripping something warm.
What the...?
My lids slowly flutter open to be greeted
by the most heated eyes I’ve ever seen in my life. And I’m straddling his lap,
legs on each side of his hard thighs and both hands on his bare shoulders. My
robe is tangled and my nightie bunches up to the middle of my thighs.
My pulse spikes at the proximity and how
tiny I feel compared to his size. I bite the inside of my cheek. I’ve never
been this close to a man before.
Like a deer caught in the headlights, I
just stare at the icy blue eyes that should’ve never gotten into my life. Or my house. Or anywhere near me.
Instead of the death they promised,
something entirely different is shining in them. A sinister promise. A dark
journey. Instead of the safe numbness I’m supposed to feel, my heartbeat
thunders in my ears, causing a shiver to ghost up my spine.
For the first time in forever, numbness
isn’t taking over everything. Something is scratching at its surface. Something
wild and unknown and... exciting.
Exciting.
I can’t even remember the last time I’ve
been excited. What does ‘excited’ even mean?
I’m guessing it has to do with the
tingles crawling up my limbs.
“Breaking your own rule, aren’t you?” He
draws in that mesmerising British accent. His head tilts to the side until his
nose gets impossibly close to the throbbing pulse in my neck. He breathes me in
for a few seconds until I’m darn sure my heart will leap out of my throat.
“Huh?” I manage after a few seconds
because apparently, I’m reduced to a mute.
“You said to never go to your floor, so
what are you doing on mine?”
That’s a good question. What did I come
here for, anyway?
There was something pressing, then he was
having a seizure, then he touched me, and then... nothing. And everything. All
at once.
His fingers glide over my collarbone,
light, sensual, barely touching. I suppress a gasp as a full body shudder takes
over me.
The combination of his leather scent, his
hard chest against my achingly heavy breasts, and his thick arms surrounding me
is already too much. Add his touch, and my skin resurrects under his
fingertips.
The urge to surrender to this foreign
sensation is so strong, I can’t access any thoughts past it.
It’s like I awaited this moment for a
lifetime. Like I waited for him to ignite whatever lurked inside me.
What the hell is wrong with me?
Whatever is happening in my body isn’t
supposed to happen. Especially with a fugitive I have zero idea about.
About the Author
Rina Kent is a lover of suspenseful plots
and edgy characters. She has always been obsessed with romance.
Storytelling is in her blood. Plotting is her addiction. Flawed and gripping
characters are her drug. She makes it her mission to give them all types of
trouble before granting them happy endings.
When not scheming her characters' fate,
Rina manages a hectic schedule divided between studying and living with the
most supportive husband and a not-very-supportive cat.
